“Priority target” Ipswich championship opponent in hot sit” as there main strike force becomes a desired raid” for Kieran McKenna team…

Ipswich Town are allegedly interested in signing Millwall’s Zian Flemming this summer. According to London News Online, the recently promoted Premier League team are considering a move for the Dutchman. The Tractor Boys are preparing for life in the top flight after finishing second in the Championship table and receiving back-to-back promotions.

Flemming has spent two seasons at the Den, scoring 22 league goals and assisting eight times in 89 games. The 25-year-old joined the Lions in 2022 from Dutch club Fortuna Sittard for a reported £1.7 million.

According to Carlton Palmer, convincing Millwall to sell Flemming this summer might cost between £5 and $6 million. He has stated that the London club may risk keeping him for another year due to a 12-month extension option, as another successful season might increase his transfer value. “Ipswich Town earned back-to-back promotions, back to the Premier League for the first time in over 20 years, are busily looking at players, casting their scouting far and wide to bring in the quality they need to stay in the Premier League next season,” Palmer stated to Football League World.

“One player they’re looking at is Millwall striker Zian Flemming. “Flemming was unable to match his 15-goal performance from last season, but he still managed to score eight this season. “He is 25, joined Millwall in 2022, and has been one of their main players. “His contract expires in the summer of 2025, but Millwall has the option to prolong his stay in London for another 12 months, therefore Millwall is pretty much in charge of the matter.

“However, if they receive a good offer for Flemming, they may decide to sell him. “I believe they would be interested in anything between £5 million and £6 million, which would allow them to reinvest in the squad in order to make the play-offs, or better, next season. “It will take a large offer to let him go; he’s highly popular with the fans at the Den, and he’s been an important part of their squad. “He’s still only 25, so they could sit on him for another year until he’s 26, hope he scores 15 or 16 goals, and then they’ll look for more money.”

“A striker will not come cheap, possibly between £8 and £10 million. “It’s one of them. Could he play in the Premier League? You never know until a guy moves up, but he’s done exceptionally well at the Championship level.”

Flemming was an important member of Gary Rowett’s side in his debut year at the club, scoring 15 league goals to help the squad finish eighth. However, the second season in the Championship proved more problematic, with Neil Harris eventually taking over as manager of the first team. Flemming was less influential than in his debut year, but he remained the team’s leading goal contributor. However, Millwall finished 13th in the table, 14 points outside the play-off places.

This summer’s flemming sale appears more plausible. Last summer, Flemming drew a lot of transfer interest as well; Burnley had four bids for the playmaker turned down. Following an outstanding first season for the team, it was then reported that Millwall had set a £15 million asking price for the player. It doesn’t seem realistic that Ipswich will have to shell out that kind of money to get the Lions to sign with them this season. This year, a sale to the Tractor Boys seems far more likely following Millwall’s lackluster campaign.
