  • Drake Maye, a former quarterback for North Carolina, claims to have “an idea” of which team will pick him in the 2024 NFL Draft. On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Dan Patrick Show, Maye was asked if he knew where he would be on draft day. He responded, “I wish I did, and I wish it was that easy.” “I think I’ll know when I hear that phone ring,” said Maye. Patrick, however, asked Maye if he knew where he was heading, and he replied, “I think I have an idea.”Maye’s remarks begin at approximately 6:50 in the aforementioned video. Caleb Williams of USC is the generally regarded as the top pick, and Maye is tied with the Washington Commanders and the New England Patriots at Nos. 2 and 3. The New York Giants, who own the sixth overall pick, have also been connected to Maye. It was reported on Wednesday by ESPN’s Dan Graziano that Maye was being pursued by the Giants instead of Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The Minnesota Vikings, who will select No. 11 on Thursday, have also been linked to the UNC signal-caller. On Tuesday’s Pat McAfee Show, NFL Network’s Peter Schrager stated that the Vikings and Giants are both vying for the Patriots’ selection in an effort to select Maye.
