Mam, 21, reportedly tested positive for drugs during a roadside examination. He was detained for further testing requiring bloods to be taken at hospital which was conducted independently of the QPS (Queensland Police Service), according to a police statement. According to investigators, a second test came back positive on Tuesday.
Mam was accused of driving a motor vehicle without a license and “driving while relevant drug is present in blood” on Wednesday. On December 16, he received a notice to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court. The charges have been communicated to the Broncos, who have issued a statement. Dave Donaghy, the CEO of the Broncos, stated, “The club was informed this afternoon that charges have now been laid.” As this case progresses, we will adhere to the legal system and keep collaborating with the NRL Integrity Unit on the next course of action.
