Official: Mark Pope Kentucky ranked” as the 41st-most talented” team in college basketball” here is the full ranks’ from 1-50….
Big Blue Madness, which will usher in the Mark Pope era of Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball, is less than a month away. There has been a tonne of news about the program this summer, but in general, UK will be represented this season with a whole new roster and staff. With several fifth-year seniors among the team’s veteran college basketball players, this roster will appear very different overall from what we have seen over the prior 15 seasons.
With several fifth-year seniors among the team’s veteran college basketball players, this roster will appear very different overall from what we have seen over the prior 15 seasons. However, the most important unanswered question about this club is still how good they can be. As to the Bart Torvik analytics system, the Cats are ranked 41st among all teams in the sport at the start of the season.
Even though the skill may not be as good as it used to be, Bart Torvik believes Kentucky will have a respectable season. With an adjusted offense efficiency rating of 26th overall and an adjusted defense efficiency rating of 25th, the Cats are placed 23rd overall according to the analytics. Additionally, the system estimates the Cats’ final record to be 20-11.
The record might not impress a lot of fans in the BBN, but it does seem like a fair assessment at the moment of the roster. With a huge matchup against Duke to start the season, luckily, we will get an opportunity to see how this team stacks up against one of the most talented rosters in the country.
Either way, it should be a fun season in the first year of the new era.
