LINKIN PARK TALK COMEBACK’ NEW ALBUM’ AND RETURNING TO THE STAGE DATE IN HOUR-LONG VIDEO INTERVIEW…
First brand-new music in seven years has been released by Linkin Park, which consists of Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, Joe Hahn, and new members Emily Armstrong [of Dead Sara] as co-vocalist and Colin Brittain [songwriter/producer for G Flip, Illenium, One OK Rock] as drummer. A new single and music video for “The Emptiness Machine,” a worldwide livestream performance, and the announcement of six impending stadium gigs in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota as part of the From Zero World Tour were among the many goodies the legendary band delivered with its fans. September 6 was the commencement of the LP Underground fan club exclusive pre-sales, while September 7 was the general on-sale date.
Following their livestream performance, Linkin Park sat down with Zane Lowe for an in-depth conversation about their new song, forthcoming album, and the years-long-journey that led them to this point.

Shinoda, Delson, Farrell, and Hahn have quietly started getting together again in recent years, with no expectations. Their natural inclination was to just spend more time together and rediscover the creativity and camaraderie that have been the foundation of their friendship since college, as opposed to “trying to restart the band.” They welcomed a variety of friends and associates to hang out in the studio during this time, and they particularly connected with Armstong and Brittain. The more time these artists spent in the studio together, the more a natural chemistry pulled them back into its gravitational pull. It was the sound of seasoned musicians finding the boundless exuberance of a fresh start. From Zero was created during this season.
“Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking,” Shinoda said in reference to the new era. “It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.” Shinoda continued, speaking about the new era.
“The Emptiness Machine” captures Linkin Park’s explosive intensity right away, maintaining the characteristics that make their music instantly recognizable and unique. A versatile and captivating song, Armstrong’s fiery chorus is delivered by Shinoda’s mesmerizing melodies over distortion-filled guitars and head-nodding drumming.
Shinoda elaborated, “The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”
Ultimately, with From Zero, the band is looking to harness the purest energy of their past, present, and future. The new era has officially begun.
