NBA Coach Says The Golden State Warriors Are Washed And Stephen Curry Is The Only Thing Keeping Them Relevant” some backup reason here…

Although they are among the NBA’s founding clubs, the Golden State Warriors haven’t been playing well lately. A recent comment made by an unnamed NBA coach even went so far as to liken the team to an aging rock band whose front man is losing popularity.

They resemble one of those touring rock and roll bands. According to Steve Bulpett of Heavy, the coach stated, “They still have their lead singer, and he can still crank it out at a high level.” However, the group has changed, and they haven’t released a successful album in a while. It appears that the championship they won over Boston is now eligible for a lifetime achievement award.

Nothing can ever match the accomplishments the Warriors made under Stephen Curry’s leadership. As one of the best teams in the NBA, the club had unheard-of prosperity from 2015 to 2019. The Warriors made history by winning three titles in five consecutive Finals appearances and dominating the three-point shooting game.

For his part, Curry was the driving force behind the run. He averaged 26.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game on 48.5% shooting in that stretch and won back-to-back MVPs in the process.

Curry led the Warriors to their most recent championship victory in 2022 against Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and the Boston Celtics in the absence of Kevin Durant. Curry’s legacy was cemented after he led his club to the Larry O’Brien trophy four times in less than ten years and won Finals MVP in the series.

Regretfully, since then, the Warriors’ downfall has been rapid. Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala are among the several key players from their previous run of success who have retired. After a terrible season, fan favorite Klay Thompson left the team last summer, and Steph is now playing without his longtime backcourt teammate for the first time ever.

Even with players like Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors’ output is not up to par. Aside from Curry, they lack a consistent star to provide easy points and the depth to compete with some of the best teams in the West.

Last season was arguably the biggest signal of the Warriors’ downfall. Curry delivered at an MVP level with averages of 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game but it wasn’t enough to lead the Warriors past 10th in the standings. They couldn’t even get out of the play-in tournament after suffering a loss to the Kings.

Going into this next season, expectations are pretty low for the Warriors. While Curry should keep them somewhat competitive, they failed to add any major upgrades and the strength of their roster pales in comparison to some of the NBA’s top teams right now.

The Warriors may very well finish in the bottom five this season if it weren’t for Steph Curry, which illustrates just how far they’ve fallen from their best. Curry’s aging will probably make things worse for the team, but there is still hope.

They may have a chance to contend for one more title before Steph announces his retirement if they can identify their next franchise star before he hangs up his spike. The Warriors will be searching hard for their next opportunity, whether it comes through the draft, trade market, or free agency. What they find over the next few years may very well decide how this chapter of their history concludes.
