Just in: Kevin Walters has officially” cleard long time doubt” the Broncos Gm statement to the board and fans was really tough…

Despite rising requests for Pat Carrigan to be promoted to captain in 2025, Kevin Walters has reiterated that Adam Reynolds would lead Brisbane for the remainder of his career. As one of the favorites to win the premiership in 2024, the Broncos advanced to the NRL grand final the previous season.

Due to the Broncos’ recent 7–8 record and seeming lack of direction on the field, vocal former Broncos hardman Gordon Tallis has spearheaded calls for a change in the club’s leadership. “I believe there is a leadership gap on the team. I observe them intently. On Fox Sports’ NRL 360 on Saturday, Tallis stated that “someone needed to stand up and put a stake in the ground.”

“(Reynolds) failed to deliver them home in the grand final as well. It would be possible to move Pat Carrigan to captain if he isn’t doing the job.

“It’s about putting your pride aside since they appointed me captain after Allan Langer departed to go to England. Alf was the captain once more when he returned, but he remarked, “No, you’re our leader.” When I play with Allan Langer in that weekend’s game under the pump, he comes out of dummy half, makes three or four consecutive tackles, stares at us, and challenges us. At this time, none of it is taking place. Thus, it might be time to consider changing who receives the C next to their name.

However, Walters reassured the media and Reynolds, 34, that his captaincy was unquestioned. “I told him during the week that he was our captain when (CEO) Dave Donaghy and I went down to sign him in Sydney.” He will be our captain as long as he is still playing, according to Walters.

“(The criticism) was a tough thing for him to read but he is a tough fella and he has been around the game long enough to understand how important his captaincy is to our club. When he is playing well and gets his own game moving well he has a huge influence over our team. We saw that against Newcastle (in the 30-14 win in round 20) and we will see that again tomorrow against the Titans.”

Reynolds told Triple M, that Brisbane had an honesty session on Monday on the back of a horror run of results. “We had a soul-searching meeting and got a lot out of it. The response is what we’re looking for now,” he said.

We’ve trained extremely well and had the honest conversations behind closed doors.” And Walters is confident that a statement performance is on the cards this weekend.

“We have spoken about some good honesty this week in our team meetings and our team review,” he said. “The players are taking ownership of what happened last week and are making sure it doesn’t happen again this week.

“We’ve got everything to play for. We had everything to play for last week. We’ve had a good preparation and there is energy amongst the group.”
