Elite: Professional NFL linebacker Ryan Fowler officially send optimistic message to the fans after putting QB Bo NIX in different level” here are his words…

When the history is ultimately written, the Denver Broncos hope that they selected one of the best quarterbacks out of the six selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft.

After the Broncos picked Denver’s rookie quarterback, Bo Nix, with the 12th overall pick, Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler has highlighted Nix as the team’s main source of confidence going into 2024.

Sean Payton, the head coach of the Denver Broncos, starts fresh in 2024 after Russell Wilson left town, according to Fowler. With No. 12 overall pick Bo Nix in town and a reorganized roster, the Broncos head into training feeling more optimistic than ever. Despite taking reps with Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham as backups during the spring, Nix, a former Oregon Duck, is expected to assume the position of quarterback one day.

If Nix were to become an elite NFL quarterback, him starting sooner than later would give the maximum value on their investment with a 4-year, $18.6 million contract.

Nix Turned Career Around in Two Seasons at Oregon

Nix spent the first three seasons on a rollercoaster ride at Auburn, where he vacillated between highs like being the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2019 to the lows of being benched in favor T.J. Finley

Under head coach Dan Lanning at Oregon, Nix was given a clean slate and flourished. As the Ducks’ starting quarterback for two seasons, Nix went 22–5 and, as a senior in 2023, passed for a career-high 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns, and three interceptions. In addition, he set records for the NCAA single-season and FBS career, finishing 77.4% of his passes and making 61 starts, respectively.

In his pre-draft analysis, NFL analyst Lance Zierlein likened Nix to former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and four-time Pro Bowler Tony Romo.

“Rare five-year starting quarterback whose play has matured in front of our eyes,” Zierlein said. “Nix displays the accuracy, arm talent and athleticism consistent with today’s brand of pro quarterback. He can be punctual in getting the ball out at the top of his drop or he can work through progressions and beat defenses with second-reaction plays. He throws with good velocity and puts the ball on the money when throwing on the move

Broncos Drafted Familiar Target for Nix

The Broncos could struggle mightily in 2024, but even if they do they’ve likely laid the groundwork for the future with Nix and by drafting a familiar target in his college teammate, Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin.

The Broncos selected Franklin in the fourth round (No. 102 overall) after he had 81 receptions for 1,383 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023 on the way to earning All-American honors

“The Broncos selected wide receiver Troy Franklin, one of Nix’s former Oregon teammates, to help ease his transition to the NFL,” Fowler said. “Despite the fact that his hands and desire to compete in cramped areas were used against him in the predraft process, Denver should benefit greatly from his explosiveness and game-changing speed. Franklin needs to improve the Broncos’bunch of pass-catchers, especially following this offseason’s trade of Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns.
