Contract terminated: I’m leaving ” Newcastle night set to loose their most skillful dude…

The 21-year-old, who had been with the Newcastle Knights, was allowed to leave the team before the conclusion of his contract in order to sign a contract with the Rabbitohs that will keep him there through at least the end of the 2025 season. Myers was initially out of the Manly Sea Eagles’ system and was a former under-16 player for New South Wales.

Despite not having made his first-grade debut, this very promising center and winger has played in 20 NSW Cup games. Of those, 11 were played at the Sea Eagles in 2023 (via its affiliate club, Blacktown), before he switched to Newcastle in the middle of the season. He has scored seven tries in nine games for the Knights, but he will now get a chance to strive for more honors at the Rabbitohs.

Mark Ellison, the head of football for the Rabbitohs, stated that Myers is driven to be successful there.

In a club statement announcing the signing, Ellison stated, “Fletcher is highly motivated to take the next step in his career and he has expressed his excitement to have the opportunity to push for that to happen at South Sydney.”

We are excited to have him wear the Rabbitohs’ red and green this year and beyond. He is a big man with abilities to match and a mature young man.

This season, the Rabbitohs have experienced serious injury concerns with their outside backs. Since Campbell Graham’s comeback is uncertain, Myers will be a valuable depth addition. He instantly clicks with South Sydney.
