I’d personally value him at over £10 million” club owner name low price for a skillful monster targeted by Kieran McKenna…

Things appear promising for the upcoming season as the Bluebirds may now make purchases during the summer window for the first time since 2022 and manager Bulut inked a new contract in early June. The 49-year-old has already started assembling his team for the upcoming season, as Oliver Denham, Sheyi Ojo, Romaine Sawyers, and Rohan Luthra are all expected to depart the team when their contracts expire.

Although there will probably be more departures in the upcoming months, Bulut will likely want to cling onto his core players in the hopes that the team can contend for the play-offs in 2024–2025. One player who has been linked to a move away is young Rubin Colwill, a standout midfielder for Ipswich Town, who is apparently being courted by various Premier League teams to sign him.

Cardiff City cannot afford to let Rubin Colwill move to pastures new

The revelation that McKenna is a fan of Colwill’s was first reported by journalist Darren Witcoop, who also noted that it is doubtful that the 22-year-old will be moving this summer. The Wales international has long been a valued member of the Bluebirds team, but recent injury setbacks have hindered his development.

FLW’s Cardiff fan commentator Ben Johnsey can see the interest in Colwill and why he would want the transfer, but believes that any deal is dubious and that it would be a mistake by the club if he was allowed to leave

“I can see why Ipswich would be a favourable move for Colwill, with the way they play and the fact that they’re a Premier League side, though he is from Cardiff and has come through our academy, so I think it would take a lot to prise him away,” Ben told Football League World.

“I’d personally value him at over £10 million, mainly because of the ceiling he has and where he could get to – he’s had a couple of seasons with injuries, but has clearly shown that he is a talented player.

“I think it would be silly for Cardiff to sell him now, because I feel if they give it a year or two you could double his valuation or at least definitely hit that £10, £15 million mark, where a club probably won’t offer more than £5 or £6 million for him at the moment.

“It’s a move that has the potential (to happen), but I can see him staying at Cardiff this year

Rubin Colwill should not leave Cardiff City this summer

Before the 2019–20 season, the Bluebirds should sell Colwill, and the only reason they would consider doing so would be if a Premier League team made an unbelievable offer. That doesn’t seem likely, though, as the 22-year-old has the ability to play at the highest level and hasn’t really started living up to his potential in his brief career thus far because of injuries and a lack of opportunities.

Colwill has been at the club since the age of eight and made his professional debut as an 18-year-old against Coventry City in February 2021 – he has since made 107 appearances for his boyhood club, but never nailed down a consistent starting berth under five different permanent managers.

It is evident by his impressive

He has the ability to join a team like Ipswich or even a top-six team like Arsenal, with whom he was previously linked by journalist Paul Abbandonato, as seen by his impressive performances over the last few years for both club and country. However, for the time being, he should remain at Cardiff to continue developing and becoming a star in the Championship.

Bulut ought to start assembling his squad around a player of Colwill’s caliber ahead of the upcoming campaign, allowing the team to maximize his potential for the ensuing few years before looking to offload him for a high price when the time is appropriate.
