As part of a settlement between Warner Bros. Discovery and the NBA, “Inside the NBA” will air on ESPN and ABC starting next season, according to several sources. TNT Sports’ parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, filed a lawsuit against the NBA in New York state court after the league rejected its matching offer for one of the packages in its new 11-year media rights agreement, which will start with the 2025–2026 season.

Tuesday is the last day to have the lawsuit dismissed. “Inside the NBA” will continue to be produced by TNT Sports and broadcast from Atlanta, with the exception of when the show travels, even though it will be available on ESPN and ABC starting with the 2025–2026 season. The show will continue to feature the quartet of Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and Ernie Johnson Jr.

Despite WBD losing the rights to broadcast NBA games in the US beginning the following season, Barkley negotiated an agreement with the firm in August. In a few countries, notably many in Latin America and Poland, TNT Sports will continue to have the rights to broadcast a complete package of games. Through an 11-year deal worth around $76 billion, the NBA will have its nationally televised games broadcast by ABC/ESPN, Comcast (NBC/Peacock), and Amazon starting in the 2025–2026 season and continuing through 2035–2036.

It is anticipated that “Inside the NBA” will air during the NBA Finals, the playoffs, Christmas Day, and opening night. In the second half of the season, when ABC has a prime-time schedule of games, it is also likely to air on Saturday nights. Through the settlement, TNT Sports, Bleacher Report, and House of Highlights will have an 11-year global content license for NBA material without having to pay a rights fee.

Additionally, Warner Bros. Discovery will maintain a five-year partnership with the league’s digital platforms, such as NBA.com. TNT Sports has the rights to broadcast a complete package of games in a few countries, including as Latin America (except from Brazil) and Poland, even though it will not be broadcasting games in the US starting next season. When approached by The Athletic, ESPN, TNT Sports, and the NBA declined to comment.
