Sad tragedy: worst day of my life! Texas rangers powerful super star heart brokend” as his entire season sadly brought to a sudden end” due ongoing viral report…
According to sources, third baseman Josh Jung of the Texas Rangers will be on the injured list because of persistent pain in his surgically repaired hand. His 2024 season will come to an end with just six games remaining.
It has been a disappointing year for Jung, who was hit on the hand by a pitch in the fourth game of the year. The resulting fracture was initially expected to cost Jung 4-6 weeks, though after surgery it was announced it would be more like 10-12 weeks.
Jung started a rehab assignment in mid-June but was shut down after four games due to ongoing soreness. He finally returned to the majors at the end of July, but he hasn’t played since September 18 due to lingering soreness.
Jung is supposed to visit a hand specialist in Arizona this week, and presumably they will put together a plan for him to be 100% for 2025. Jung has been dogged by injuries throughout his career, playing only 78 games in 2021, then missing almost all of 2022 due to a shoulder injury suffered while working out.
Jung missed a month with a fractured hand in 2023, and was questionable for Opening Day this year due to a leg injury that cost him most of spring training
Jung’s 2024 campaign was a disappointment following his strong rookie year in 2023 when he earned an All-Star selection. This season, he managed to play in just 46 games, recording a .264 batting average with seven home runs and 16 RBIs. His absence is a significant blow for the Rangers, who were counting on his offensive production to help solidify their lineup in a challenging season.
Jungwill visit with a hand specialist to evaluate the cause of the recurring discomfort, as the Rangers aim to ensure his long-term health moving forward. In his absence, Ezequiel Duran is expected to take over at third base for the final stretch of the season.
