Just now: Julen Lopetegui west ham officially enter serious fight’ with Manchester United for undisputed midfield sniper” west ham in good position to make the snatch base on current squad dept…

Manchester United and West Ham are among the clubs interested in Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka, who is ‘upset’ over his lack of game time with the German giants.

The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order under new manager Vincent Kompany and has played just one minute of competitive football so far this season.

The 29-year-old is behind Aleksandar Pavlovic and summer signing Joao Palhinha in Kompany’s plans and is not happy about it.

Bayern’s director of sport, Max Eberl, said of Goretzka’s situation :’We communicated very clearly from the start

Leon was aware that Josh [Kimmich] would once again play more in the center and that we would be bringing in Palhinha and Pavlo [Pavlovic].

We have also stated that Leon will receive normal treatment once he is present and prepared to face the circumstances. Leon is a wonderful man. Despite the fact that he is plainly furious right now, I really like him. That is also something I comprehend. But in football, that’s just part of the game.

The Sun add that both Manchester United and West Ham have both already indicated interest in the Germany international, while other Premier League sides might potentially make a move if a Bayern Munich exit appears nailed on

Goretzka’s contract at Bayern runs until the summer of 2026, so with his transfer value set to fall as he heads into the final year of his deal, the Bavarians may well be happy to sell in January.

A stumbling block for any deal would be the huge wages that Goretzka is on at Bayern, with the former Schalke man reportedly earning around £273,000-a-week.

The midfielder turns 30 in February and would bring a huge amount of experience to any club he joins, with 57 Germany caps to his name.

However, he looks unlikely to win his place back any time soon under Kompany after a great start to the season for Bayern, winning their first three Bundesliga matches and already clear at the top of the table.
