Coach tragedy: immortal Andrew Johns has publicly’ gave a ridiculous’ verdicts about Kevin Walters sacking’ period after so many disgraceful displays….
After a dismal season, immortal Andrew Johns has projected that Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters will have a short window of time to remain at Red Hill in 2025.
The Broncos have fallen short of expectations less than a year after making it to the 2023 NRL Grand Final. As a result, they will start their off-season sooner than anticipated as eight other rival teams play in the 2024 NRL Finals later this week.
Kevin Walters was on the verge of experiencing the utmost highs and lowests of his coaching career this year, only minutes away from defeating the Penrith Panthers and capturing their first premiership since 2006.
Their season has been hampered by controversy both on and off the field, a string of star injuries, and struggles to produce consistent results on the field. Reece Walsh, Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam, and Payne Haas are among others who have sustained injuries.
A rowdy altercation between seasoned players Reynolds and Patrick Carrigan took center stage among the off-field disputes.
They’ve been incredibly let down, “Johns stated on Brad Fittler’s Freddy and the Eighth.
“There is no doubt that he is under pressure. However, I believe that the case will be put on hold until the following year. “They’ll probably give him six or eight weeks, maybe a couple of months. Then, you can anticipate what will happen if they don’t fire people.”
Johns’ remarks follow Broncos head coach Dave Donaghy’s support of Walters’ decision to stay on as head coach for the upcoming campaign, allaying concerns that Walters would be fired before his contract expires in 2026. The performance of the two halves, Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam, will be crucial to Walters maintaining his position as leader.
Johns questioned whether Reynolds could return to the form that won him a premiership with the Rabbitohs and helped the Broncos reach the 2023 Grand Final. This season is probably going to be his last in the NRL. “What plans does he have for the park next year? Johns said, “He’s another year older.
It’s challenging to determine. However, consider the amount of kicking he has done throughout his time; it makes up a significant portion of his performance, both in goals and overall. “Your body simply cannot handle it. The end is near for his body.”
