BREAKING: Oh no! That’s massive” Agent of ‘very fast’ left-back offers player to Ipswich Town amid links with Leeds United….
Daniel Farke’s side have waved goodbye to Archie Gray, Luke Ayling, Jamie Shackleton, Connor Roberts and Rasmus Kristensen this summer for one reason or another and that has left lacking at full-back.
The addition of Jayden Bogle is seen as a bit of a coup at £5m, and he wears the no.2 shirt ahead of the new season. The first player to wear that number since Ayling joined Leeds from Bristol City in 2016. With four days between now and the start of the Championship season, Leeds have just three full-backs for two positions. Bogle, Junior Firpo and Sam Byram provide the options and Leeds clearly need another.
Left-back linked with Leeds has been offered to Ipswich Town Earlier this week, Leeds were said to be interested in Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno on loan. But he is not the only left-sided option said to be on the Elland Road radar, with Milan’s Fode Ballo-Toure an option. Senegal star Ballo-Toure is said to have attracted interest from Leeds and Watford after a poor loan at Fulham last term. Ballo-Toure has rejected a move to Besiktas, putting Leeds and Watford in pole position.
But now, CalcioMercato say the agents of the “very fast” full-back are keen to win him a Premier League move and have offered him to newly-promoted Ipswich Town who of course, boast left-back Leif Davis.
Ipswich move would be a mistake for Ballo-Toure this summer Davis starred in The Championship last season, winning a place in the division’s Team of the Season. He is one of the first names on the team sheet at Portman Road under Kieran McKenna, and will start if fit. Even if Ipswich managed to do a deal for the Milan left-back, there is no way he gets in over Davis at the moment. If Ballo-Toure’s agents are trying to work him a move to the top tier, they haven’t picked well.
If Leeds are intent on a move to sign Ballo-Toure, then they should not worry too much about a possible move to Ipswich simply because Kieran McKenna’s side are unlikely to be interest thanks to Davis.
