Last minute deals: Carlton Palmer officially send Ridiculous warning to Burnley concerning Ipswich Town current transfer approach…

After an unexpected promotion to the English football premier league under Kieran McKenna in the 2023–2024 season, the Tractor Boys are looking for wingers, even though they had permanently re-signed loan sensation Omari Hutchinson. Jaden Philogene, a crafty forward who chose to return to his former club Aston Villa, was once thought to be on his way to Ipswich from Hull City. It is also claimed that Ipswich is still interested in Sunderland’s Jack Clarke.

Odobert is the most recent Championship winger to win McKenna’s respect in before of a possible Turf Moor departure this summer, according to a recent revelation from Football Insider transfer specialist Pete O’Rourke. According to the report, Burnley is unwilling to let go of Odobert but would grudgingly approve a sale if a sufficient offer is made. There are a lot of moving elements, though, as it’s still unclear what Burnley is asking for, whether Ipswich would make an offer, and how the player in question feels about it all.

Every player ultimately has a price, but Palmer believes that the Clarets should stand firm and provide a hefty valuation to even consider parting ways with Odobert, who still has four years on the deal he signed when joining last summer before promptly impressing in the top-flight despite Burnley’s relegation under Vincent Kompany.

McKenna has stressed the need to still bring in extra recruits following Saturday’s pre-season friendly defeat to Fortuna Düsseldorf. The Blues had agreed a deal to sign Jaden Philogene from Hull City earlier this summer, but he opted to rejoin his former club Aston Villa instead.

“Odobert would be a suitable alternative. He joined Burnley from French side Troyes after starting his youth career at Paris Saint-Germain. The 19-year-old featured 29 times in the Premier League last season, registering three goals and two assists.

“Scott Parker will be keen to keep Odobert – of course you want to keep your better players. He’d be reluctant to sell the player, Odobert would be outstanding in the Championship and would wreak havoc, you would think.

“So Burnley, if they do sell and the player wants to push a move to get back to the Premier League, having paid €12 million for Odobert last year and who is still under contract for several years to come, they would be looking for a figure of £20 million to even consider letting him go

The teenager has a bright future ahead of him and again, Burnley aren’t in a position where they need to sell.

“With two weeks to go until the Championship kicks off, all teams will be worried about players who would have a major impact leaving the club at this stage. But as we know in football, if players want to move then they can push through a move.

money they’ve paid for the talented teenager who did impress in the Premier League, so we will have to wait and see what happens.”

Keeping Wilson Odobert would be Burnley, Scott Parker statement of intent amid Ipswich Town interest

Odobert showed enough during his short time in the Premier League with Burnley to cast little doubt on the impact that he could have at Championship level.

Both himself and fellow wing prospect Luca Koleosho impressed in fits and starts with their endeavour, trickery and searing pace out wide – and you’d back the pair to combine and light up the division come August if they stay put.

Quite simply, Burnley would show they’re not messing around by keeping hold of Odobert despite Ipswich’s interest and the additional admiration that’ll likely be registered before the window is up.

In turn, having a player of his class in the Championship would greatly underline the Clarets’ promotion credentials and anything less than an immediate return will be classed as a failure given the squad Parker has inherited.
