BREAKING: The toughest guy is officially strongly ready to hijack” the middle of the Denver Broncos’ defense after his latest shocking advice to his team mates” which he called…

Alex Singleton is the new incumbent leader for the Denver Broncos’ middle defense after Josey Jewell left for the Carolina Panthers in free agency. Singleton, a standout player at Montana State University, was selected undrafted in 2015 and played his first season for three different teams. Disappointed with his circumstances in the National Football League, he was selected in the first round of the 2016 CFL Draft by the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.

He would win the Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award in 2017, two CFL All-Star selections, and a Grey Cup championship in 2018 while he was there. Howie Roseman, general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, was impressed by his on-field performance throughout his three years there, and in the winter of 2019, he signed a contract.

For the next three seasons, he would become a part-time starter and core special teams’ player with them. After signing a one-year deal in Denver two years ago, he took his game to a higher level and hasn’t looked back. In 2022 and 2023, he amassed 163 and 177 tackles—the highest marks on the team. He has proven himself a capable defender. And for the first time in ages, he doesn’t have to worry about fighting for a roster spot.

It’s obviously different, but so much of my career, I have been that guy for a lot of it. Fighting for a spot or fighting for playing time. It’s good,” stated Singleton.

While he is focused on preparing for his role as a leader defensively in 2024, he is also hoping to guide and give advice Jonas Griffith and Cody Barton who will be in a fierce competition for the starting spot next to him.

“I think today [ILB] Cody [Barton] and [ILB] Jonas [Griffith] were getting a lot of reps with the two periods. They’re going to rotate and let the best guy win.”

Singleton would go on to talk about his experiences proving himself over the course of his career. He would speak about how it’s important to remember that initial depth charts and slots don’t matter. That there is always room for improvement and that the opportunity is always there for an expanded role on the team.

“You tell those guys you are competing every day to start Week 1, but that’s not a 17-week decision. That’s a Week 1 decision,” added Singleton.

“Just keep getting better every single day and fit into the best role you can on this team and help us win football games because that’s the ultimate goal of everything.”
