Almost there! Ronnie O’Sullivan looking strongly ready to sweep aside the unfortunate” boy that got him on the draw” as time runs fast…..

Ronnie O’Sullivan is the defending champion going into the Shanghai Masters, and his last tournament loss is becoming a fainter and farther memory.

Since the Shanghai Masters stopped being a ranking tournament in 2018, The Rocket has won all three of its iterations. The previous year, he also took home the title in the final ranking event version.

O’Sullivan lost to Michael Holt in the second round of the Shanghai Masters in September of 2016. That was the last time he had been defeated there. Amazingly, the Hitman defeated the Rocket for the second time in a row with that victory.

Since then, Holt has won ranking events, left the circuit, competed as an amateur for two years, and is currently back in the professional ranks. O’Sullivan has now established himself as snooker’s greatest player by winning two World Championships, three UK Championships, and other events.

Sam Allardyce was about to lose his job as England manager and Theresa May had just taken over as prime minister when the Rockets last suffered a defeat at the Shanghai Masters.

It’s absurd who he has defeated in the tournament since his last defeat. Christopher Keogan (do you remember him? ), Gary Wilson, Joe Perry, Barry Hawkins, Mark Williams, John Higgins, Judd Trump, Neil Robertson, Stuart Bingham, Zhang Yi, Kyren Wilson, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy, Ali Carter, John Higgins (again), Mark Selby, and Luca Brecel are listed in chronological order. O’Sullivan has a combined record of 140-73 since his most recent defeat at the Shanghai Masters.

O’Sullivan’s aggregate score since last losing at the Shanghai Masters stands 140-73.

WhileO’Sullivan has done pretty much everything in his sport, it is actually quite rare for him to dominate a tournament over a stretch of time. His brilliance has been his epic longevity over three-plus decades more than his overwhelming dominance at any stage,
