Julien Lopetegui is officially showing strong interest in another terrific Sensension before the new season begins..
This summer, West Ham United boss Julen Lopetegui is keen to sign a top-tier France international.
Luis Guilherme and Max Kilman are two terrific additions that Julen Lopetegui has already made, and he is off to a great start at West Ham.
Before the new season begins, the Spaniard is collaborating closely with Tim Steidten, director of football, to ensure that his team at the London Stadium is sufficiently strengthened. It has even been suggested that he intends to complete the most of his transfer business before the Hammers’ main preseason campaign starts. Lopetegui is rumored to be considering a deal for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran as he urgently wants to bolster his center-forward lineup.
However, the Hammers head coach needs to bolster pretty much every single department of his squad before the transfer window slams shut.
And one signing he’s now eyeing up plays in a position that Lopetegui has already significantly strengthened!
Julen Lopetegui interested in signing France international for West Ham
The former Wolves boss clearly isn’t holding back when it comes to bolstering his ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
He has already made some very impressive moves, but he’ll be well aware that his work is far from done.
And now the 57-year-old could be set to really take his summer business to another level entirely.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus really want to sign Jean-Clair Todibo this summer, but West Ham’s interest in the defender is ‘strong’, with the Hammers the only club to come close to Nice’s asking price for the 6ft 3in centre-back.
The 24-year-old is wanted by Nice for closer to £34 million, but the Hammers board has already made an offer of about £30 million, £13 million more than Juventus. I firmly believe that West Ham ought to make every effort to secure the former Barcelona player’s visit to the London Stadium in the summer.
He would be Kilman’s ideal teammate, and the Hammers would suddenly have one of the best center defensive tandems in the Premier League.
The Nice star is an elite central defender, and he has really impressed for the Ligue 1 outfit since joining them from Barcelona three years ago.
The 24-year-old is incredibly strong in the air, possesses impressive pace for such a big man and he reads the game superbly well.
Todibo is definitely ready to make the jump up from Ligue 1 to the Premier League, and he should be perfectly suited to England’s top tier.
If Julen Lopetegui manages to bring Jean-Clair Todibo to West Ham this summer, we could be in for a seriously exciting next few years.
After former Hammers manager David Moyes was unable to convince him to move to the London Stadium in January, Julen Lopetegui appears committed to taking over from his predecessor. This summer, the West Ham head coach has to improve Vladimir Coufal significantly and fortify his right full-back position. Wan-Bissaka possesses every quality that Lopetegui is looking for in a right-back, so I think he would be a fantastic addition to West Ham.
