NRL Riot: Hull FC in serious Battle” with super league giants” for the signature of Brisbane Broncos want away speed star…

Though some supporters have questioned the quality of the acquisitions, Hull FC under Richie Myler’s recruitment strategy has looked rather “scatter-gun” thus far. Nevertheless, they are supposedly leading the way for one of the NRL’s most intriguing backs.

Hull FC announced last week that they had signed Ed Chamberlain, Ollie Holmes, and Zak Hardaker, bringing their total number of recruitment for 2025 to six. Remarkably, four of those signings came from Leigh.

Their latest target would add to the spine with the club reportedly leading the chase for Brisbane Broncos speedster Tristan Sailor, son of cross-code legend Wendell who once played his Rugby Union in England.

Sailor is buried behind NRL superstar Reece Walsh and is reportedly interested in a move to Super League for some game time, and Hull FC are one of two sides leading the chase for

It would be a huge signing for Hull FC if they can manage to land Sailor, the 26-year-old speedster who can also play on the wing. However, FC are not the only Super League side in the race with St Helens named as the surprise other team interested

Given that Sailor’s preferred position is full-back, interest from Saints could indicate that they plan on moving full-back Jack Welsby into the halves to replace NRL-bound Lewis Dodd, with Sailor targetted to replace Welsby in the number one shirt.

It would potentially be a masterful move by St Helens but per The Daily Telegraph, Welsby’s presence and the assumed lack of guaranteed minutes with the Red Vee has meant that Sailor would prefer a move to Hull FC.

What makes the race for his signature even more interesting is the fact that current Broncos’ assistant John Cartwright will be at Hull FC next season whilst fellow Broncos’ assistant, Lee Briers, is widely being rumoured and linked with a move to St Helens.

Reports linking Briers with the St Helens job were covered in Rumour Mill, although first came from Yorkshire Live with those at the Red Vee reportedly having held talks with the ex-Wigan coach.

Another web within the possible Tristan Sailor move is that he was heavily pursued by Leigh Leopards in 2023 but Broncos’ head coach Kev Walters explained that Sailor was too essential to the club.

Having since played bit-part roles during Walsh’s time injured or playing for Origin, it’s unclear how satisfied Sailor is, therefore prompting the potential that he’s available to Super League with Hull FC and St Helens trying to swoop for him.
