After committing a “dumb” professional foul that put his Brisbane teammates “under immense pressure,” Broncos player Kotoni Staggs has come under fire. In the fifteenth minute, referee Liam Kennedy gave Staggs his marching orders when he swatted the ball out of Tyrell Sloan’s hands while offside at marker.
After a Jesse Marschke break, the Broncos were ahead 6-4 and Staggs was desperate to stop the Dragons’ momentum. This is when things went crazy.

“He’s going to cop a gobful from Kevin Walters for that, that’s just dumb,” Cronk said.
“He didn’t have to do that and his team is under immense pressure for it.”
