Breaking news: Detroit lions Jared Goff is finally on the verge of writting his name in a history book in the coming days….
With Jared Goff starting at quarterback and Dan Campbell leading the sidelines, the Detroit Lions were able to turn the page on their franchise narrative last season, ending decades of disappointment and never really coming close to winning a Super Bowl.
Given how the team handled Campbell’s situation last season and how it concluded the 2022 campaign, many projected that the Lions would have a breakthrough year in the 2023 NFL season.
The Lions didn’t need the extra pressure, but Detroit managed to meet and even surpass expectations in the previous season, as quarterback Jared Goff and company advanced to the NFC Championship Game and gave the elite San Francisco 49ers a serious competition.
Even though the Lions lost that game despite having a large lead, the season was still viewed as a success, and the squad may have a bright future. Offensive tackle Penei Sewell is one of the guys the team can thank for their recent success and the potential for future success.
Despite just being 23 years old, Sewell has already had an influence on Detroit, and The Volume reports that Geoff Schwartz of FOX Sports believes he will eventually be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Schwartz declared, “I don’t think there’s even a question: he’s going to be a Hall of Famer.”
Sewell is now among the top offensive lineman in the NFL, so Goff should be grateful that the former Oregon Duck will help keep him upright and protect him. Sewell might have a career worthy of the Hall of Fame and even win a few Super Bowl titles if he continues to be healthy and effective on the field.
