Heavy protest”chase Taylor has been brutally warned by south Carolina After latest snubbed” they can never get together” for making a terrible…

This past weekend, Michigan added its first linebacker commitment of the 2025 class when three-star Chase Taylor of Stockbridge, Georgia, committed to the Wolverines over a number of other schools, including USC, South Carolina, and Georgia Tech.

In October of last year, Taylor received an offer from the prior staff, but almost immediately after, he became one of linebacker coach Brian Jean-Mary’s main targets in the 2025 class. Among the other schools that made him an offer during the 2024 winter evaluation period in February were LSU, Clemson, and North Carolina.

With Taylor’s commitment, the Wolverines have a valuable verbal commitment at a time when they plan to continue restocking following several transfers from the 2023 cycle. Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, ranked 100th, and Kamar Archie, ranked four stars, are the remaining targets.

Four-star Jacob Washington made his pledge to Sherrone Moore, Ron Bellamy, and the Michigan staff, marking the Wolverine staff’s second commitment from Louisiana in as many weeks.

Georgia Tech is just one of several. After running back Jasper Parker committed last weekend, he gave Ron Bellamy another highly sought-after prospect from his alma institution, Marrero (LA) Archbishop Shaw, during his official visit to the campus for Victors’ Weekend.

The Michigan offense is in need of length at the receiver position and Washington can provide that as a 6’3″/180 ball hawk on the outside. He also held offers from Miami (FL), Ole Miss, Arkansas and Penn State among others.

Opportunity and fit are still paramount in the college basketball transfer portal. There are countless instances on both extremes of the spectrum. Despite being a top-10 pick in the 2023 portal cycle, Tyler Burton was unable to have a significant effect on a Villanova team that had an abundance of wings. Another highly-coveted transfer, Dylan Disu’s skill prevented him from playing a lot of minutes for Texas. Kadin

It happens.

Ranking players who enter the transfer portal is a tough, thankless exercise. But it often feels incomplete to not go back and double-check which players made the right decisions to maximize their impact next year. Player A might be higher-ranked than Player B, but Player B’s situation could be better than Player A’s which leads to a better year.
