I can win the title for my team” but they will have to offer me a contract first Ipswich star massage kieran McKenna..

Christian Walton’s heroics in goal were crucial in helping Ipswich Town overcome the odds and earn promotion from League One in the previous campaign.

However, injury paved the way for Czech shot-stopper Hladky to come into the team and since then, he’s not relinquished the starting spot. He’s managed 14 clean sheets in 43 Championship games but his ability on the ball has made him key in play as well.

The 33-year-old’s deal is up this summer but after such a strong season, a new deal is being eyed.

Long-term deal possible

Ipswich Town are poised to offer Hladky a new contract at Portman Road and writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon says he could be offered a deal as long as three years.

That would keep him onboard until the summer of 2027, when Hladky will be 36.

It is said that deal could be too good to turn down, while potentially forcing previous first-choice Walton out of the exit door in search of a return to starting football.

A deserved contract for Hladky

Few would have expected Hladky to become so important this season. In fact, many would have assumed that Walton would reclaim his Ipswich Town starting spot upon his return to fitness while the former Salford City man would return to his backup role.

However, Hladky thrived in Walton’s absence and ultimately, he’s been a nailed on starter since.

Having played such a key role in a remarkable campaign for Kieran McKenna’s side, a new deal is a must. He’s key in possession and has been busy in between the sticks, looking like the ideal ‘keeper for this Ipswich side.

Time will tell just what comes of his contract situation, but Hladky is certainly deserving of a new Ipswich Town deal.
